Sedation Dentistry – Port City Family Dentistry
Sometimes the pain of an operation is too much to bear, and anesthesia must be applied. Sometimes pain is not the issue – it is fear or apprehension, which causes the patient to think he or she feels more pain than is real, or does not fully trust or understand the impending procedure. Sedatives cause patients to squelch some or all of their anxiety, and in more concentrated dosages, may even bring the patient to pass out. After such a phase, the patient will remember almost nothing about the procedure or what happened directly before it.
